10 Things You Need to Know About Invisalign Teen

by Kyle Rowley

Invisalign-Teen

If you’re looking for teen Invisalign in Kennewick, then you’ve landed on the right page.

Invisalign braces, also known as clear aligners, are a reliable solution to dental issues such as misaligned teeth. These invisible braces are suitable not only for adults but also for teenagers.

They’re designed for teenagers and can provide great results. Teens are more conscious of their looks than adults. These teen aligners are made specifically for teens, keeping in mind the changing shape of their teeth.

Given below are ten things you need to know about Invisalign braces for teenagers.

Let’s have a look:

WHAT YOU AND YOUR TEEN NEED TO KNOW ABOUT INVISALIGN

Invisalign teen facts from a Kennewick dentist

#1 They’re Almost Invisible

Invisalign Teen is a nearly invisible way of straightening teeth by using a clear aligner. Most teens are conscious about how others will look at them if they wear braces. Invisalign braces, with their translucent appearance, go a long way towards eliminating this problem.

#2 To Be Worn Everyday

Invisalign is to be worn every day, for 20-22 hours. They work on aligning the teeth and giving a proper shape to your jaw, but they only work if they’re worn for a greater part of the day. While they are removed for meals, they should be reapplied as soon as possible after finishing eating.

According to studies, most teens only wear their aligners for 21 hours. As parents, it’s important to ensure your children wear their braces for the required time so they can achieve the desired results.

#3 They Are Removable

A very good thing about Invisalign is that you can remove them whenever you need to. You may opt to remove ‘em to brush and clean your teeth.

They’re very easy to remove and put back in. We’ll explain the procedure to you and your child, and they’ll be able to remove and fit back the aligners without any difficulty.

#4 Need To Change

When you get Invisalign braces for teenagers in Kennewick, you’ll have to visit us every few weeks as the Invisalign mouthpiece is changed out for a new one until the teeth gradually shift into a more aligned state.

This is important because the shape of your teeth is constantly changing, and the aligners need to be set accordingly.

#5 Can Solve a Number of Issues

Invisalign can effectively treat mild to severe overcrowding, underbite, overerbite and more orthodontic conditions. However, not everyone may be a candidate for Invisalign.

Visit our Kennewick office today to see if your child can be a candidate for Invisalign teens.

#6 Don’t Interrupt Your Regular Tasks

Invisalign mouthpieces do not impact your day-to-day tasks. You may eat or brush without any trouble as they’re removable. Plus, you may even perform other tasks, such as playing sports or musical instruments, without any worries. You may remove them to reduce the risk of injuries.

#7 Easy to Manage

It is easier for teens to maintain dental hygiene with Invisalign because they can just remove Invisalign when flossing and brushing.  There are no wires or other hardware getting in the way.

Stephen Nozaki of Image Dental has said, “With Invisalign®, teens are no longer self-conscious while receiving orthodontic care, when compared to metal braces. This allows them to live their lives with minimal interference by a dental appliance; as a teenager, that is incredibly important. We highly recommend Invisalign® for teens with a Malocclusion.”

#8 The Right Duration

Treatment time for traditional braces and Invisalign is usually about the same length. How long the treatment takes depends largely on the condition of your teeth. We will be able to give you an estimate of your treatment at your first appointment.

#9 Comes with a Blue Ribbon

Invisalign braces for teens have a special feature – a blue indicator that fades depending on how much you wear the retainer. They can help us determine whether you’re wearing your retainers for the required amount of time.

#10 Less Pain than Traditional Braces

Invisalign may remove the aesthetic discomfort of wearing traditional braces. Since they contain no wiring, there’s no risk of pain and discomfort that is associated with traditional braces.

You may feel a little uncomfortable at the start of each new retainer set, but you’ll soon get used to wearing Invisalign without any difficulty.

Invisalign is a Great Option for Teens and Adults in Kennewick

Invisalign braces can sort out a number of issues and give you a perfect smile. It’s not only important for aesthetics and functionality but can also help you leave a better first impression.

If you’re wondering if Invisalign Teen is a good solution for your child, call (509) 374-4077 to set an appointment and see if it’s right for your child.
